For regulated work, such as electrical installations, you must hold the required qualifications and permits yourself. If you are unsure whether you can invoice for your work as a light entrepreneur, ask our customer service.
Subcontracts, reverse-charge VAT and the household tax credit are part of everyday construction work. Here is how Bisse helps.
Tiling, bricklaying and painting are often purchased from independent professionals who complete part of a project and invoice the contractor. As a light entrepreneur, you can send an invoice without your own company.
When the conditions for construction reverse-charge VAT are met, the business buying the service accounts for VAT. You can send these invoices through Bisse under the Finnish Tax Administration’s rules.
Your customer may be able to deduct 35% of the labour cost for renovation work from their taxes. Mention the credit in your quote and itemise labour separately from materials and travel costs on the invoice.
Pay a percentage of your invoicing or a fixed monthly price. Both include bookkeeping, VAT returns and tax returns.
€39.90/month + VAT when billed annually. €49.90/month + VAT when billed monthly.

Yes. You can use Bisse to invoice for occasional jobs, small renovations and individual contracts alongside your main job. Your salary as a light entrepreneur is earned income and is taxed together with your other earned income. Make sure the income limit on your tax card covers your income for the whole year.
Yes. Everyone working on a construction site must have a tax number entered in the Finnish Tax Administration’s public tax number register. You can find your tax number on your tax card and in MyTax. It is also shown on a photo ID, such as a Valtti card.
A Valtti card is a photo ID commonly used in construction that also shows your tax number. A photo ID is required on shared construction sites, and main contractors generally require one for site access. You can order a Valtti card through Bisse.
Register with Bisse and verify your identity. Check that your tax number is in the public tax number register, then provide the details listed in the ordering instructions. The Valtti card is ordered separately.
See the Valtti card page for instructions and pricing. The Pro package includes liability and accident insurance. Coverage, deductibles and exclusions are defined by the insurance terms. Check any special terms that apply to your construction work as well.
Read about insurance and its terms.Ask your client for a list of the required documents and provide them before work begins. Contact our customer service if you need information about Bisse’s service or help with the documents.
Contact Bisse.Yes. You can invoice for a contract completed for a construction company or renovation work for a private customer. Agree on the scope, price and invoicing details with your customer in advance.
With reverse-charge VAT, the buyer accounts for VAT instead of the seller. It applies when you sell construction services to a business that itself sells construction services on more than an occasional basis, typically when subcontracting for a construction company. It does not apply to sales of materials, design work or work for private individuals.
Read more about VAT.Yes, when the Finnish Tax Administration’s conditions are met. The invoice is then issued without VAT and states the buyer’s VAT liability and the legal basis for it. If you are unsure whether reverse-charge VAT applies to your work, ask our customer service before sending the invoice.
Contact Bisse.Private customers can generally claim the household tax credit for eligible renovation work in their home or holiday home. In 2026, the credit is 35% of the VAT-inclusive labour cost, up to €1,600 per person, with a €150 annual deductible. Itemise labour separately from materials and travel costs on the invoice.
Read the household tax credit guide. The invoice amount is not the same as your take-home pay. Allow for taxes, the service fee, any required YEL insurance, tools and materials, travel and time you cannot bill for. Use the salary calculator to estimate how much of your invoicing you take home.
Open the salary calculator.Light entrepreneurship suits occasional invoicing or trying out self-employment. A sole trader business becomes relevant when invoicing is regular and you want to deduct expenses in your own accounts. Consider a limited company when turnover grows, you hire employees or want to separate business finances from your personal finances.
Compare sole trading and light entrepreneurship. We transfer your salary promptly once the customer’s payment reaches Bisse’s account. Salary payments are made every day of the year. Sending an invoice alone does not trigger a salary payment.
